"The primary objective of this assignment is to formulate an Aquaculture Development Strategy for the RMI based on the current status of MIMRA facilities and human capacity, the need for outer island sustainable development, geographical and economic factors, and policy/governance structure. A gap analysis will identify areas for improvement and strengthening. Ad hoc mentoring and training of MIMRA personnel in identified strategic and technical aspects of aquaculture development will be an inherent part of this consultancy. This work will be guided by MIMRA’s strategic goals as follows: maximize the long-term value from its fisheries for the benefit of the people of RMI; conserve and manage the aquatic resources for current and future generations in RMI; to be professional, transparent and accountable in the way it manages fisheries resources in RMI..."
